    I started genea-logical research - around 1996 or so - in order to find out where exactly the living Family Members I met through my earlier life - and was aware of at that time - had" their place" in my "clans/branches" or, in my ancestor's trees.

    Soon I began collecting Family documents etc. in order to preserve Family Memory and to get a chance to find out more from the collected documents... as information on the whereabouts of some Family members were "lost" ...

    Since then I also collected as much information & documents as possible from living Family members - that also meant "reconnecting" with "the cousins" ... and allowed me to find, recently,  living descendants of my maternal GF's side my mother as well as my uncle were not aware of anymore.

     In between using Internet search was a next step and gave me the satisfaction to find some U.S.A. data (Ellis Island website and U.S.A. Census) for 3 of my maternal GM's siblings who emigrated to the U.S.A. - almost 100 years ago - and, as a wonderful result, to get in touch with living "lost" Family members : descendants of my mother's uncle Tun (or Tony)  ...
      But I'm still looking for more information from the U.S.A. for  my mother's maternal aunt Anny Steffen, married to Nick Weber.

    Recently I really started to get the necessary official documents in order to control & enlarge the genealogical data I already had for my 4 GP's.
     These official records faced me with "reading"/transcribing the genea-logically rich informations contained in the documents ... and made me end up as a participant in the TRANSCRIBE group.
